Life is already pretty tough, but when festival season approaches and the allure of good times are promised, it only becomes harder. Like any music festival, EDM festivals present a variety of obstacles that people must face when determining whether they can attend or not.
Though circumstances may differ between individuals, there are several obvious factors that each person must judge while making their tough decisions. The first factor is, of course, the line-up of the festival.
Every festival layout is similar in that it will have several headliners to draw in the general majority, while many smaller acts are brought in to cater to specific tastes. When picking out the right festival, people will often have to gauge whether a festival is worth attending based on its line-up of large and small acts alike, and whether the acts call out to them personally. This may be one of the easiest decisions, but can still be hard nonetheless.
Once the line-up has been seen and the interest is there, people must survey the rest of the difficult questions that will determine if they can go. For most people, money is not limitless and it is hard to do whatever you want without having to pay a consequence or two.
With a music festival, there are a lot of secondary fees that follow the ticket price including travel, lodging, dining, etc. and it can end up being quite the large sum of money at the end. Depending on location and access, expenses may differ, but this is where many decisions are made for a majority of people.
Unfortunately, many festivals are in a rather remote location or in a larger city, making accommodation difficult or more expensive. However, if someone is able to meet all of the requirements, the final step is usually determining whether one needs to take work or school off and if they can.
In the end, all of these factors combine and contribute to the average concertgoers EDM festival attendance, either positively or negatively. With a good line-up and affordable location, music festivals around the country take in people by the thousands every year contributing to a summer of lights, music, and dance for every fortunate attendee. It is sometimes hard to find the money and time to attend an EDM festival, but if plausible, the experience is worth the struggle.
